Et fini New York!

Teen Vogue Fashion University: My AMAZING Experience! (Day 3)

Before listening to the incredible Eve MacSweeney and Phyllis Posnick we were given a special viewing of the documentary 'The Editor's Eye' an insiders look into the lives of the editors at Vogue.

Day three was bittersweet for me, it was the last day of FashionU aka graduation. It truly felt as if these girls and guys were my real classmates. The first day we arrived it seemed like we had entered an amazing realm of fashion orientation. I was beginning to put people's faces to their facebook profiles and trying to remember names of those I had interacted with online. Every morning I would wake up to an amazing view of 34th and 3rd and the beautiful skyline of the city of which I was learning to navigate on my own. The scents of street food, perfume, trash and city air all became too familiar almost like it was home. I never wanted to leave.

Teen Vogue Fashion University: My AMAZING Experience! (Day 2)

Day two was extremely long and informative not to mention fun! We were introduced to Amy Astley (as well as some other Teen Vogue editors) by Jason Wagenheim!

Bulgari reps were there with the chance to win one of their fabulous rings, I should have entered the contest more than once so I had a better chance haha.

Pantene styling booth with stylists there to add cute braids and new styles to our hair while we waited!

My hair seemed to be doing this Miley Cyrus thing and I loved it haha. What I wore:
Vintage Necklace (Dannijo Inspired) | Mac 'Ruby Woo' Lipstick | My Mom's Oversized Sweater | Vintage Pendleton Wool Skirt/Kilt | Jeffrey Campbell 'Clinic' Wedge

And for the big event- Amy Astley and the editors, Dannijo, Thakoon, Christian Siriano, Coco Rocha, Into The Gloss writers and The Coveteur writers!

Couldn't keep my eyes off of Amy Astley's Prada heels...sold out everywhere!

As I waited to go in to see Christian Siriano speak, my friend spotted him sitting outside the Conde Nast building and my heart started beating 500000000 miles a min. I was so lucky to get the chance to meet him personally (without a huge frantic crowd) and he even signed my Teen Vogue Handbook!

The entire day I was struggling to walk since the sole of my shoe started to come off as soon as I stepped foot in Times Square. These were my very first pair of Jeffrey Campbells I bought myself when I was about 18 or 19 so me being 22, it was probably about time for them to be re-soled.

To be in the building you only dream to work in was so inspiring, this entire weekend was a boatload of inspiration. It's nice to know I'm on the right track to success in this field. After all the seminars, we headed directly to Soho on the subway for the Topshop shopping party!

There were so many goodies being served to us- mini macaroons, ice-cream with a plethora of toppings, mini donuts and delish mocktails. Every guy serving food was either a model or an actor of some sort and believe me they were absolutely gorgeous. The Soho location had four floors and I almost couldn't grasp it all. All purchases for us TVFU students were 20% off but Topshop wasn't exactly in my budget if you know what I mean. I saw so may things but put them back for the sake of my bank account. I also ordered cutout boots from Topshop online a few weeks ago (since I'm from Virginia and our closest Topshop is this one the event was at in NY) and they were too small, so I should have exchanged them in store when I had the chance...BTW it's actually cheaper to buy from Topshop online than it is in store. The shoes I ordered retailed about $140 in person but online I got them for $80, weird but I'm not complaining!

Teen Vogue Fashion University: My AMAZING Experience! (Day 1)

Ok so I know I've been lacking on my posts here but I have some amazing news- I attended Teen Vogue Fashion University 2013! I had SO MUCH FUN, and didn't want to leave...talk about an amazing experience! Although I arrived on thursday, I did most of my exploring on Friday with my roommates. And unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me that day so I missed out on taking tons of beautiful pictures at the Express kickoff event (I was so upset) but I got a few...

I've been to NY 4 times now, and I think everyone who's interested in fashion, sewing or project runway has wanted to stop in Mood- so we went in for a quick tour. Fabrics from wall to wall, oh my goodness.

NOTE: Another unfortunate moment, we didn't have time to go back to our room so I had to stay in my "running around the city in leather leggings, free-runs and an oversized sweater" outfit-ugh. But some guy at the event did compliment my outfit lol--as you can guess, I was the only one wearing athletic footwear, but it was fashion forward with my fringed leather bag.

Lets just talk about how I met Andrew Bevan...........yes THE ANDREW BEVAN- aka the amazing Style Features Director for Teen Vogue . It's so unreal, we got to chat for like 10-15 min about random things like how he almost went to UVA (since I'm from Virginia) and how we should take a "serious pic, then act like Asian tourists!" in his exact words. I really appreciate how he connected with each and everyone of us at the event. Seriously he had a conversation with everyone that came up to him!

Fashion Week SS14 Favorites

I'm ashamed to say that this time around I have not been totally immersed in to fashion week like i usually am due to school work starting to pile up, however I have taken some time out of my last few days to look at some collections. I'm already excited for spring forgetting that fall is around the corner, but fashion week has a way of doing that to us. Here's a look at some of my favorites

3.1 Phillip Lim

Opening Ceremony

Derek Lam

Alexander Wang

Um what?! Dying at these collections. As far as my style, these designers hit the nail on the head- masculine tailored pants and bermuda shorts, hard lines with sexy silhouettes and oversized oversized OVERSIZED. I see many budget saving DIYs in my future. Specifically the A. Wang wrap shirt in the first picture- oh MY.
